Pocket Lap started as a group chat where three friends kept sending each other links to racing games and arguing about which ones controlled better. At some point the arguments got long enough that we decided to write them down properly. That's the whole origin story, honestly.,We're independent. Nobody pays us to say nice things, and we don't run a studio's marketing copy as if it were our opinion. When we like something, it's because we sat with it for hours on the train, on the couch, waiting in line somewhere.,Games get picked for review the boring way: someone plays a game long enough to have a real take, then we test it across a couple of phones to see if it holds up on cheaper hardware too. Frame drops matter. Battery drain matters. Ads that interrupt a race matter. We note all of it.,The site is small on purpose. We'd rather publish one careful review than ten rushed ones, and we update older pieces when a game changes a lot after an update.
