Strategy
Tidebreak Command
★★★★☆ 4.3
Tidebreak Command is a real-time strategy game about naval skirmishes, and the best thing about it is that it respects the small screen. Maps are compact, unit counts are manageable, and you can read the whole battlefield without pinching around constantly.
There are no build timers holding you hostage. Matches are self-contained, run about ten minutes, and come down to positioning and knowing which ship type counters which. It's the rare mobile strategy game that trusts you to actually play instead of waiting.
The tutorial is a little brisk, so the first couple of matches feel overwhelming. Push through them and it clicks fast.
What we liked
- No energy or build timers
- Compact maps built for phone screens
- Rock-paper-scissors unit design that's easy to learn
