Nitro Verge

Nitro Verge is the racing game I keep coming back to. It sits in that sweet arcade zone where you don't need to feather the brake through every corner, but a well-timed drift still feels earned. The handling is forgiving without being mushy, and the sense of speed on the highway tracks is genuinely great.

The career mode is refreshingly compact. Instead of a thousand filler events, you get tight tiers of races with clear upgrade goals. I unlocked most of the cars I cared about in a weekend, and none of it felt like a grind designed to sell shortcuts.

Tilt steering works well here, but I switched to the on-screen wheel and got tighter control. Either way the game reads your inputs cleanly. My only gripe is that a couple of the night tracks are visually busy enough to hide upcoming turns.
