Playing a full RPG on a phone without burning out

Mobile RPGs ask for commitment, and it's easy to bounce off one two hours in. The trick is treating them differently than console RPGs. You're not going to sit for four-hour sessions, so don't try.

Play in chapters. Do one story beat or one dungeon, then put it down. Games like Embercrown Saga are built around this, with quick saves and travel dialogue that gives you natural stopping points.

Turn off auto-battle if the game has it, at least for story fights. It's tempting to let the game play itself, but the combat is usually the best part, and skipping it hollows out the whole experience.

Finally, don't chase every side quest. On a phone, the completionist urge leads straight to burnout. Follow the main story, do the sidequests that sound interesting, and let the rest go.
